MVP Project Grants for Canadian Music Video Production Teams: Apply by May 1, 2022!
Are you an emerging Canadian music video recording artist, producer, or director with a great concept in search of financial support?
Powered by RBCxMusic and the Prism Prize, and administered by the Academy of Canadian Cinema & Television, the MVP Project offers music video production grants valued between $5,000 and $15,000 for Canadian music video production teams. Groups comprised of recording artists, producers, and directors are eligible. The application deadline is May 1, 2022, at 2 pm PDT; 5 pm EST.
Grants from the MVP Project provide emerging Canadian talent coast to coast to coast with the flexible financial support necessary to catalyze their creative vision. The result is a slate of powerfully-diverse music videos that have garnered widespread critical acclaim throughout Canada and abroad.
In 2021 alone, three MVP Project-supported music videos were nominated for the Top 10 shortlist for the 2021 Prism Prize (Rich Aucoin’s “Walls,” Sean Leon’s “90 BPM,” and TOBi’s “24 (Toronto Remix),” while director Alexander Farah’s clip for Desirée Dawson’s “Meet You At The Light” garnered a coveted Vimeo Staff Pick designation.
Since taking flight in 2018, the MVP Project has awarded 75 grants to emerging artists, and supported the creation of 52 music videos, with more to follow via this eighth intake.
