REEL Earth Day Challenge 2023 Returns!
9 Days. 9 Projects. 1 Planet.
The B.C. film industry returns for the third annual REEL Earth Day Challenge! The challenge starts on April 11, running until Earth Day on April 22 to raise money for transformative projects within many of the Metro Vancouver Regional Parks. This fundraising competition, jointly developed by Creative BC’s Reel Green™ initiative and the Metro Vancouver Regional Parks Foundation (MVRPF), encourages crews, productions, suppliers, vendors and other stakeholders in the motion picture industry to raise funds to help support these projects.
Over the past two years, the REEL Earth Day Challenge has raised over $273,000 to support 17 restoration and preservation projects, thanks to our total of 559 sponsors and donors. This year, the goal is to raise $100,000 to help bring the motion picture community together in the spirit of giving and environmental sustainability. To follow along with the progress of each project and challenger team, or to donate directly to the challenge, visit the REEL Earth Day Challenge website here.

About the REEL Earth Day Challenge
The Reel Green™ initiative, is an industry-funded resource center to help productions reduce their environmental impacts and improve their overall environmental footprint.
The Reel Green™ partners are looking ahead to the next decade and how we can empower productions to innovate and implement sustainable production practices and inspire industry stakeholders to collectively support this effort. We are prioritizing education, engagement, communications, and resources as we develop a platform for the reduction of environmental impacts and stakeholder engagement at the local level to set an example for other jurisdictions globally.
The 2023 REEL Earth Day Challenge is centered on connecting parks and people and restoring and maintaining popular Metro Vancouver Regional Parks where filming takes place. With your support, these projects can take flight.
