The countdown has begun! 2 Rivers Remix – a ‘movable feast’ of contemporary Indigenous music, art, and culture – is underway throughout B.C. again.
On June 22, 2024, the St’uxwtews Movable Feast Indigenous Music Festival will launch at the historic Hat Creek Ranch, in Cache Creek, B.C. (Secwépemc territory), featuring an array of headliners drawn from across Turtle Island.
Additional Summer Movable Feast events will take place on June 30, 2024, in Lytton, B.C. (Nlaka’pamux territory), to commemorate three years of Nlaka’pamux resilience since the Lytton Fire. On July 2, 2024, events will move to Lillooet, B.C. (St’at’imc Nation territory). Featured artists will include Haasatuk (Nuu-Chah-Nulth), Miesha and The Spanks (Secwépemc), and Willie Thrasher & Linda Saddleback (Inuvialuit).
From July 5 – 7, 2024, 2 Rivers Remix’s Mother • Earth • Rise will animate Kamloops Race Central (Tk’emlups te Secwepemc territory), with more than 30 cutting-edge Indigenous artists, drawn from Aotearoa to Tk’emlups te Secwepemc and elsewhere. Each unique event includes a core of nationally and internationally-known artists, including Aysanabee (Oji-Cree), Sihasin (Navajo), and Laura Niquay (Atikamekw).
These free, family-friendly events will feature music and dance performances, youth-focused showcases, educational workshops, and more. Programming will also be live-streamed at live.2rmx.ca. Additional programming and events will continue to be announced in the coming weeks.
