The annual African Descent Festival promotes the arts, culture, and heritage of those of African descent in Vancouver, throughout British Columbia, and across Canada. 2025 marks the Festival’s 11th anniversary.
The Festival creates a platform for contemporary African Descent-Canadian art and culture, and showcases and shares this cultural heritage for both those of African descent, and the public at large.
The 2025 Festival is slated for August 9 – 10, at English Bay Beach, in Vancouver’s West End. Alongside a slate of live music performances, attendees will have the opportunity to take in fashion shows, connect with food vendors, and share in a robust and growing community of Festival attendees, year over year – all drawn together in support of the rich diversity of the African diaspora.
This is a free, family-friendly event.
