Supported by Creative BC and presented by Canadian Media Producers Association, this ‘Adapting Local IP’ panel will explore how and why they optioned and adapted the award-winning book series from B.C.-based writer L. R. Wright, and the process leading up to the highly anticipated television series, premiering September 24 on Global in Canada and FOX in the States.
Murder in a Small Town is based on the Edgar Award-winning, nine-book “Karl Alberg” series. The story follows Karl Alberg moves to the idyllic coastal town of Gibsons to become the new police chief and soothe a psyche that has been battered by big-city police work. Unfortunately, the gentle paradise has more than its share of secrets.
