The Bleeding Tree International Film Festival returns to Creston Valley from May 2–4, bringing together filmmakers, students, and cinema lovers for a celebration of alternative filmmaking. Alongside screenings of some of the finest dark drama films in the world, attendees will enjoy the engaging industry talks from leading voices in film education and performance.
This year’s speaker lineup invites deep conversation about the creative and practical sides of filmmaking. Panels include a session with Kootenay-based actors exploring the shift from stage to screen, a talk from representatives at Bow Valley College on how post-secondary programs are filling gaps in filmmaker training, and a special presentation from Lauren Eden, nominated for Best Student Film, titled “Finding Your Voice as an Emerging Filmmaker”, and more.
