On April 16, British Columbia will celebrate the 10th anniversary of Creative Industries Week (CIW) in Victoria.
This year’s event will reflect on a decade of accomplishments and look forward to the future of B.C.’s creative sectors, including book + magazine publishing, music + sound recording, creative technology, and motion picture. The showcase will also provide an interactive platform to highlight the jobs, talent, investment, and innovation that continue to drive the province’s creative economy.
Cross-sector energy is always central to the theme. B.C.’s tourism sector joins the creative industry fray to showcase the newly launched Cineventure™, where film and tourism merge on a digital platform that showcases and guides tourism itineraries, enabling participants to view the beautiful Province of British Columbia through the lens of film and television.
The energetic and interactive multi-sector ‘show and tell’ circuit is designed to provide government partners informative opportunities and insight to the jobs, talent, investment and innovation driving the future success of BC’s creative economy.
The official program will begin with a welcome from Emcee, Creative BC’s CEO, Prem Gill, followed by the remarks and the official Proclamation of Creative Industries Week by The Honourable Spencer Chandra Herbert, Minister of Tourism, Arts, Culture & Sport.
