Out on Screen Announces Dates for the 2016 Vancouver Queer Film Festival
(Vancouver, BC) ~ Out On Screen is proud to present the Vancouver Queer Film Festival this summer from Thursday, August 11 to Sunday, August 21 at various theatres, including the Vancouver Playhouse, Cineplex Odeon International Village, SFU’s Goldcorp Centre for the Arts, The Rio, VIFF Vancity Theatre, and more.

Two months in line for two hours of music.
The 2016 festival will kick off with an outdoor sunset party at the Queen Elizabeth Theatre Plaza on Thursday, August 11 at 10:00pm. Exciting new additions to the growing 2016 lineup include groundbreaking, genre‐bending films such as North Mountain, by Canadian Métis director Bretten Hannam, and Waiting for B, which follows hardcore Brazilian Beyoncé fans who camp for two months prior to the pop star’s 2013 São Paulo concert.

North Mountain is a Two-Spirit thriller centred around an inter-generational romance between two Mi’kmaq men who are connected in an unconventional way, and bound by fate to face death.
The Vancouver Queer Film Festival celebrates the best in independent queer cinema and facilitates a unique community space through a variety of performances, panels and workshops.
The 2016 Festival is set to showcase over 80 films from 20 countries, with themes ranging from queer troublemakers, indigenous voices, and queer freedoms.
