Screen International has unveiled the shortlist for the 2025 Global Production Awards, which honour excellence and sustainability across film and television production, locations, and studios.
The BC Film Commission at Creative BC has been named a finalist for Film Commission of the Year!
The Film Commission of the Year is awarded to a film commission with an established international reputation for exemplary service to productions and a top filming destination of choice. This award recognizes a Film Commission’s efforts to attract filmmakers, problem-solving approach, customer service, creativity, community contribution, and why the location is proving so popular across locations, incentives, studios, crew, and more.
Judges for the third Global Production Awards include Jay Roewe, senior vice president at HBO; Valerie Guerette-Langlais, head of production tax and incentives at A24; and Veronica Sullivan, head of global production external affairs and state and local government at NBCUniversal. The judging panel was put together by specialist strategy consultancy Olsberg SPI.
The Global Production Awards are sponsored by On-Set Location Services (Silver Partner), Dallas Film Commission, South Side Studios (Category Partners), and Olsberg SPI (Supporting Partner).
The BC Film Commission is proud to be recognized alongside some of the world’s best in the global motion picture industry. The Global Production Awards will take place at the Cannes Film Festival on May 19, 2025, at a ceremony at Mademoiselle Gray Barrière.
