Mar 10, 2014

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE – Vancouver

The UBCP/ACTRA Women’s Committee celebrates International Women’s Day by honouring Nicole Oliver in recognition of her outstanding contribution to the Union, the industry, and causes of social justice.

Nicole Oliver has worked for over twenty years in the entertainment industry as an actor, producer, and director. Ms. Oliver has been nominated by her peers for several Leo Awards for her work on both the small and big screen and this past November she won the UBCP/ACTRA award for Best Voice for her work in The Littlest Pet Shop – Gailbreak!

Ms. Oliver’s credits in film and television include numerous leads in various MOWs, television shows, and feature films in both Canada and the United States. She has worked for every major network in the US and Canada, including recent projects for Lifetime, City-TV, and Entertainment One.

UBCP/ACTRA’s Women’s Committee Chair Jo Bates said “We are thrilled to recognize the work Nicole has done. She is such a great example of a woman balancing a career and family while still finding the time to contribute so much to the Union.”

The Women’s Committee encourages everyone to participate in International Women’s Day events this year.

The Union of British Columbia Performers (UBCP/ACTRA) is an autonomous branch of ACTRA (Alliance of Canadian Cinema, Television and Radio Artists), the national organization of professional performers working in the English-language recorded media in Canada. ACTRA represents the interests of 22,000 members across Canada – the foundation of Canada’s highly acclaimed professional performing community.
