The Whistler Film Festival (WFF) combines an international film festival competition that has become a go-to destination for Canadian and British Columbia filmmakers hoping to bring their films to market.  More than 12,000 people are expected to attend this year’s festival including film lovers and filmmakers alike.

Power Pitch & Bootcamp

Six finalists receive training and rehearsal sessions from seasoned pitch master, Peter Belisito. They have one day to hone their pitches for a chance to win $1,000 cash prize and a $10,000 credit for Studio Space.

Feature Project Lab

An intense, phase-two business and creative content development experience for Canadian producers, who receive strategic advice and packaging feedback from industry experts.

Aboriginal Filmmaker Fellowship

A three-day creative and business immersion designed for Aboriginal Canadian talent advancing short script projects through feedback from successful, mentor filmmakers.

WFF Praxis Screenwriters’ Lab

Focused on advancing feature-length projects at the script stage into production, screenwriters engage in business tailored group discussions, one-on-one industry meetings, a boot camp pitch session and a master class with highly accomplished industry experts.

Music Café

A two-day showcase and industry panel, songwriters and musicians from BC play live 20-minute sets, and meet with key music and film executives. This year’s lineup includes Alexandra Staseson, Buckman Coe, Dave Morin, Derrival, Find the Others, Kaylee Johnstone, Little India, Morning Show, Savvie, and Wooden Horsemen.

Creative BC Supports MPPIA Short Film Award

On December 5th, five of BC’s brightest emerging directors vie on stage for the sought after Motion Picture Production Industry Association (MPPIA) Short Film Award.
