Jan 25, 2017

We’re excited that the Vancouver International Film Festival (VIFF) has announced the return of the Sustainable Production Forum (SPF) October 5th and 6th, 2018. The forum is a unique opportunity for members of the industry to gather and collaborate on sustainable production and to participate in securing a greener future for motion picture

Highlights from the first SPF included keynote speakers from around the world and studio executives to speak on what movements are happening at all levels for sustainable production.

This year is a bigger schedule with more events, more speakers, and more opportunities to address sustainability within the motion picture industry worldwide!

New to 2018 is the VIFF IMPACT Sustainable Production Excellence Awards which celebrate achievements in sustainable production within three different categories:

Industry Builder – This category recognizes a person or production that has contributed significantly to the local economy.

Sustainable Production Impact – This category recognizes production(s) that have reduced greenhouse gas emissions and/or diverted waste from landfill and/or contributed positively to the local community.

Sustainable Production Champion – This category recognizes individuals that go above and beyond to advance sustainable production in the motion picture industry.  Up to five awards may be given in this category.

Both Playback and Reelscreen media covered the addition of the VIFF Sustainable Production Excellence Awards!
