Crack Cloud
Congratulations to Crack Cloud, recipients of The Hi-Fidelity Award 2021! The Hi-Fidelity Award is presented to a recording artist (band or musician) who has used video art to represent their work in a consistently creative and innovative way. Crack Cloud was supported by Creative BC in Career Development 2019 and Showcase BC 2020. Watch their interview with Prism here.
Vancouver-based multimedia collective Crack Cloud utilize the combined talents of various artists, filmmakers, musicians, and designers to deliver striking visuals and a core band that straddles art-rock and post-punk. The group was originally formed by vocalist and drummer Zach Choy and instrumentalist / editor Mohammad Ali Sharar.
They have released two EPs, Crack Cloud and Anchoring Point, which they collated into their debut album in 2018. After comprising over 20 members — with seven of those dedicated to touring — they began to expand on their sound and production technique, culminating in the release of their second full-length, 2020's Pain Olympics.
