IAMTHELIVING and Teon Gibbs
The duo behind JNGL consists of South East London vocalist Rian Peters (IAMTHELIVING) and Botswana rapper-come-producer Teon Gibbs. Both now residing in Canada, Vancouver is the pinpoint of their sonic rendezvous. Together, they are creating music that is not only electric but is a uniting force, the title of their EP being symbolic of this – the concrete jungle versus dense, green wilderness. “We wanted to create a project that embodies who we are, where we’re from, and shows what we can do. The word “JNGL” just seemed to capture it all,” says Teon.
The EP showcases both performers' magnetic charisma and, through the album's six tracks.
IAMTHELIVING's musical background boasts a wealth of diverse experience, a distinct voice that stands alone, and the ability to create music that speaks volumes. Teon Gibbs is becoming one of the most recognizable and influential voices in Western Canada. Teon has developed a heightened level of perspective and self awareness. He has been able to build a name for himself through collaboration, authenticity, and pushing the artistic envelope while maintaining the charisma and bravado of some of the more popular mainstream artists of the day.
