Tissa Rahim
Tissa Rahim is an RnB songstress with a Middle Eastern flare. She has just released a new remix for her song "Mad Honey" now available on streaming platforms.
After years of sharing the stage with The Bleeding Horse Express, Vancouver songstress Tissa Rahim launched an exciting new solo project in 2018. An established West Coast musician with a 40-city North American tour under her belt, Tissa has performed at House of Blues in New Orleans, the Gramercy Theatre in New York, and Vancouver’s quintessential jazz and soul club, Guilt and Co. Named one of 24 Magazine’s “Top 24 under 24,” her collaborators include producers like 100 Monkeys’ Jackson Rathbone.
In 2019, Tissa Rahim release her debut music video (Lift A Finger), collaborations with musicians from across the Vancouver scene and beyond and the September release of her self-titled debut EP.
Tissa's signature vocal style combines the melodic playfulness of Googoosh with the freedom of Florence Welch and the depth of Lauryn Hill. As a solo artist, Tissa is able to freely explore her effortless Soul/R&B sound, infusing it with the traditional Persian music her family has made for generations. With her deeply personal lyrics and uniquely evocative sound, Tissa’s upcoming releases are certain to capture the attention of the Pacific Northwest and beyond. Tissa Rahim is based in the unceded ancestral territory of the Musqueam, Squamish, and Tsleil-Waututh nations.
