Female and gender minority music producers: apply for SOCAN’s Equity x Production Mentorship Program by February 15, 2023!

Made possible thanks to support from the Royal Bank of Canada and Abelton, and delivered by the SOCAN Foundation, the annual Equity x Production Mentorship Program specifically empowers female and gender minority professionals to forge careers as music producers by providing opportunities for education, networking, mentorship, and mutual support.
The program was developed in 2019 in response to research conducted by the Annenberg Inclusion Initiative. In 2019, the USC Annenberg Inclusion Initiative released a report that identified that women and gender minorities make up only 2.1% of producers throughout the top 100 hundred Billboard songs annually from 2012 to 2018. That report also validated that these producers are underrepresented 47 to 1 by male producers in the data analyzed.
Up to 25 applicants will be selected to participate in a dedicated retreat later this year, where they will forge the skills, connections, and confidence needed for industry success.
The application deadline is February 15, 2023. Apply here.
