Vancouver, B.C. (November 2, 2026) – Today, Creative BC is pleased to announce the recipients of the 2026/27 Magazine Publishers Market Fund program (the Program). This program provides financial support for B.C. magazine publishers to attend select markets and domestic and international trade events for the purpose of promoting their publication list in both foreign and domestic markets, securing new business opportunities and professional development.
Applicants to the program can secure financial assistance for in-person presence at any qualifying fairs and event sites. This year, B.C.-based magazine publishers attended 26 domestic and international markets, including the Magazines West Conference, PROTOTYPE Toronto, Sunshine Coast Festival of the Written Arts, and Ireland Music Week. These opportunities supported business development through foreign and subsidiary rights sales, digital marketing initiatives, and audience growth. Attendance at industry events also enabled publishers to connect directly with readers and buyers aligned with their magazine content and target markets. In addition, the program supported a range of activities, including event planning, community and partner outreach, marketing material development, and new project creation.

“As an independent B.C. publisher working adjacent to the music industry, international events like SXSW, Ireland Music Week, and Iceland Airwaves are invaluable opportunities for RANGE Magazine to build relationships and develop new business outside of Canada. Support from Creative BC helps us get into those rooms, promote our publication on an international stage and build connections that continue long after the events are over.”
