Slated for November 28 – December 2, 2022, the inaugural Jade Music Festival is a global music industry conference poised to electrify audiences province-wide.
As a beacon for representation for Chinese-language music and musicians, the festival will present a slate of Chinese-language artists drawn from across Canada. The Festival will also feature networking opportunities, workshops, panels, and live performances, all dedicated to increasing visibility and opportunity for Chinese-speaking music and live event professionals from every facet of the industry.
The Festival will help attendees develop skills and networks associated with entrepreneurship, tourism, technology, and branding. It will also shine a light on topical issues such as representation and gender in music, and convene audiences from all walks of life. Alongside its showcasing of Chinese-language music to a global audience, the Festival will also create developmental opportunities for local artists.
Featured Festival artists will include Tyler Shaw, Kerr Lee, Ginalina, and Duck Lau. Venues include the Queen Elizabeth Theatre, the Vancouver Playhouse, and the ANNEX. The Festival is a production of The Society of We Are Canadians Too, and has been supported through Amplify BC’s Music Industry Initiatives program.
