B.C.’s motion picture industry is underpinned by its government commitment to incentives, services, and policies that together ensure B.C. delivers high value to visiting productions. The Province’s financial investment contributes to sustain and grow both foreign and domestic production activities through competitive labour-based tax credit programs. Productions that choose to film regionally enjoy increasingly competitive incentives.
The programs are administered by a team of service-oriented analysts within a dedicated, provincially funded agency, Creative BC, which acts more broadly as a catalyst for the creative industries and bridges government with the motion picture industry. The programs combine with B.C. Film Location Policy to reflect the government’s business-friendly position with collaboration and support that starts with an attitude of “yes” for industry’s needs.
