Whistler Film Festival: Here Comes Talent!

WFF is pleased to announce the finalists for the WFF Aboriginal Filmmaker Fellowship, Hi5 Short Film Challenge and Music Showcase, as well as Feature Project Lab and Praxis Screenwriters Lab. Finalists have completed phase one of their programs and are moving onto phase two that takes place at the Whistler Film Festival.

WFF's slate of 12 talent programs are designed to provide creative and business immersion experiences for up to 75 Canadian artists – including directors, producers, screenwriters, actors and musicians – with more than 50% of the talent pool coming from BC.

Aboriginal Filmmaker Fellowship finalists include:

  •     Amos Scott (NWT) – DRUM SONG FOR THE SOUL
  •     Daniel Foreman (AB) – RAVEN AND THE SEA WOLF
  •     Kawwennahere D. Jacobs (ON) – RAE
  •     Kelton Steponowich (AB) – BREAKING CHARACTER

Canon Hi5 Short Film Challenge finalists include:

  •     Joel McCarthy (BC) – FATHERS AND SON
  •     Sharai Rewels (BC) – BINARY LULLABY
  •     Michael Chen (BC) – THE MOON & THE STARS
  •     Krista Rand (BC) & Orsy Szabo (BC) – AUTHENTIC KIDS
  •     Athena Russell (BC) – HI FIVE GOODBYE

Music Showcase finalists include:

  •     Lovecoast (Victoria)

  •     The Tourist Company (Vancouver)
