Erin Dean is the CEO of Creative Saskatchewan, overseeing its operations with strategic leadership. Erin has played an essential leadership role at Creative Saskatchewan since the doors first opened in 2013. In her role, Erin collaborates closely with the provincial government, industry stakeholders, the Board of Directors, and the senior management team to ensure the organization’s success. Her expertise and dedication are integral to fostering a vibrant creative sector in Saskatchewan.
• Valerie Shantz, Executive Director, Winnipeg Folk Festival
Valerie Shantz is the Executive Director of the Winnipeg Folk Festival, bringing extensive experience in arts and higher education administration. With a background in public administration and theatre, her leadership roles include Senior Strategic Advisor at Red River College Polytechnic and founding Executive Director of Film Training Manitoba and the Director of Granting Programs at the Manitoba Arts Council. She has also served on the boards of the Winnipeg Arts Council, Winnipeg Art Gallery and Manitoba Theatre for Young People.
• Robert Wong, Vice President, Creative BC
Robert Wong is the Vice President of Creative BC. Joining the organization when it was BC Film + Media, he became an expert on motion picture tax credits and helped launch the BC film and television tax credit program in 1998. Robert now markets British Columbia as a top destination for creative projects and companies, and leads Creative BC’s tax credit and granting programs, balancing international business attraction with support for BC’s local content creators.
• Darin Banadyga, Senior Strategy Advisor, Prairie Sky Strategy (Moderator)
Darin has diligently worked to improve quality of life for the people of Saskatchewan for his entire career. He brings more than thirty years of experience in the education and provincial government sectors as a school administrator, chief of staff and senior level civil servant. He has highly developed expertise in stakeholder relations, public sector governance and public policy development and implementation. Darin is currently a Senior Strategy Advisor at Prairie Sky Strategy.
