Founded in 1989, the Galway Film Fleadh showcases bold new films and unites filmmakers and audiences worldwide in a shared passion for film. The delegation will take part in panels and info sessions covering topics such as Canadian financing ideas, the Canada-Ireland audiovisual co-production treaty, and more. From May 14 – 17, three B.C. artists — NADUH, Sam Tudor and The Jins — will attend The Great Escape Festival in Brighton, U.K. through Music BC‘s Live Music Trade Initiatives supported by Creative BC. These initiatives support the growth of business opportunities for B.C. artists and music industry professionals through a range of domestic and international trade missions and showcase events.
As the festival for new music, The Great Escape showcases 450 emerging artists from around the world in more than 30 venues throughout Brighton, including a pop-up festival site on Brighton Beach. As one of the largest public film festivals in the world, Berlinale is a unique venue for artistic exploration and entertainment, attracting tens of thousands of visitors from around the globe each year. The 25th annual Asia TV Forum (ATF), held in Singapore from December 3–6, 2024, served as a pivotal event in one of the world’s largest co-production and entertainment content markets. Racial Equity Screen Office (RESO) Leads B.C. Delegation at ATF 2024
A highlight of ATF 2024 was the Racial Equity Screen Office (RESO) leading a successful delegation from British Columbia, which included B.C.-based producers Osric Chau and Renuka Singh. Supported by Telefilm Canada, Canada Media Fund (CMF), Canadian Media Producers Association (CMPA), and Creative BC, the delegation engaged in impactful networking and showcased co-production-ready projects for the Indo-Pacific region.
This initiative also strengthened B.C.’s creative footprint in Asia, fostered new opportunities for international co-productions in the region, and heightened the visibility of B.C.’s screen industry and talent in the Indo-Pacific region.

Music BC will once again host Come Together, Canada’s coast-to-coast artist and industry reception for artists ready to break into Canada’s largest music market, from November 25 to 26 in Toronto. This year, B.C. will have two artists present at Come Together: The Bankes Brothers and Nikkaela.

Canada House returns to Hamburg and Berlin, Germany this September for the 2024 edition of the Reeperbahn Festival and Conference. This year, Canada will take over Uwe (formerly Kukuun) once again for two full days of showcases on Thursday, September 19, and Friday, September 20 starting midday and running right through until midnight. On the Monday, CIMA has partnered with the Embassy of Canada to Germany in Berlin and MMF Canada, to present an afternoon of business events. On Tuesday, Canadian delegates are invited to participate in the Berlin Experience, a full day of business events organized by the Reeperbahn team. In Hamburg, Canadian companies will get the chance to participate in a Meet the Canadians matchmaking session, in conjunction with Reeperbahn, with German industry.

MIA-Mercato Internazionale Audiovisivo, returns to Rome from October 14 to October 18, 2024 with its tenth edition. This event brings together the international professionals in the audiovisual industry for business development and networking opportunities. This year, British Columbia’s Pat Ferns from
Ferns Productions will be attending with the support of Creative BC’s Passport to Markets program. It provides travel support to B.C.-based professionals of creative media to access key international markets, conferences, co-production and co-financing events. Creative BC’s support offsets a portion of travel, accommodation and registration expenses.
MIA-Mercato Internazionale Audiovisivo drew in 2,600 participants from 66 countries last year. The event featured over 80 panels and events, 5 content showcases, 4 pitching forums, and over 60 market screenings and film presentations.

FAME Week Africa is an essential destination for African and global creative professionals and features content sessions, music showcases, film screenings, exhibitions and a variety of networking opportunities.
