The First Peoples’ Cultural Council’s Music Program’s next deadline is July 3, 2024.
The Music Program supports activities that lead to professional development opportunities, cultural knowledge transfer, and community well-being. Supported projects facilitate the development of B.C. First Nations music creatives and professionals residing in B.C.
Grants of up to $20,000 – $30,000 are available to B.C. First Nations music creatives and professionals residing in British Columbia. This program offers three areas of funding:
- Creation and Sharing: supporting B.C First Nations individual artists in music creation, performance, recording, touring, and promotion.
- Recording Engineers: supporting B.C First Nations emerging recording engineers, and broadening knowledge and skills through mentorship based on direct participation in recording projects, along with recording equipment, and software enhancements.
- Industry Professionals: supporting B.C First Nations emerging music industry professionals in the roles of administrator, agent, promoter, manager, event organizer or presenter, and funding mentorship, internships, or training.
Applications may be submitted until 4:30 pm, PST on the deadline day. Program guidelines, instructional videos, and other resources are available on the First Peoples’ Cultural Council website. These grant opportunities are supported by Creative BC.
