Creative BC thanks Rob Bromley for his leadership and service contributions to the organization and to B.C.’s creative sector
With heartfelt gratitude, Creative BC’s Board of Directors, CEO, and staff recognize the immense contributions of Board Director and past Chair, Rob Bromley. Rob served in various capacities as Chair of the Board, as Vice Chair, and as a part of the Board of Directors since 2013. Rob’s work has been pivotal in the establishment and governance of Creative BC and its mission to foster, develop, and sustain B.C.’s creative sector through historical transformations of growth and evolution.
Rob Bromley
“Rob Bromley’s steadfast dedication and strategic efforts have greatly enhanced both our sector and our endeavours at Creative BC,” said Prem Gill, CEO, Creative BC. “We are profoundly proud of the work he’s led us through and look forward to building upon his legacy as we move forward.”
Rob Bromley joined the year Creative BC was formed by the Government of British Columbia in a merger of two bodies serving the advancement of the motion picture industry in B.C.—one to support creation and incentivize production (BC Film + Media) and the other to service the growing the industry (the BC Film Commission). He served as board Chair from 2019 to 2022, where he steered the organization through the onset of COVID-19, and as Vice Chair and member over the years through many advancements for the sector, such as the integration of four additional industries to the newly formed organization Creative BC, subsequent expansion of the Film Incentive BC tax credit for motion picture productions to support scriptwriters, and the launch and delivery of funding to B.C.’s music sector that continues. This foundational work over many years was instrumental in the organization’s ongoing evolution, capacity building, and readiness to receive and deliver a historic $42M funding commitment over four years from the Province in April 2023.
We thank Rob for these remarkable leadership contributions and his devotion to the sector during his tenure on our Board of Directors.
