Reel Green 2018 Partners Announcement

We are excited to announce Reel Green’s partners for 2018/2019! Click to read more and find out who they are.

Reel Green is an initiative to put sustainable production at the forefront of the motion picture industry in BC. This effort is not possible without the incredible collective of partners that support Reel Green and its mission. These partners make up the Reel Green Advisory Committee which guides the Reel Green Strategic Plan and helps generate awareness for the program. This year, Reel Green is excited to announce its 2018 partners who share the vision of a sustainable motion picture industry.

Returning Partners:

• Creative BC | an independent not for profit agency, funded by the provincial government and responsible for promoting and developing the creative industries in British Columbia.

• Canadian Media Producers Association | represents the interests of screen-based media companies engaged in the production and distribution of English-language television programs, film, and new media content in all regions of Canada.

• Directors Guild of Canada BC | represents the creative and logistical personnel in the film and television industry in British Columbia.

• IATSE 669 | representing Camera persons in Western Canada since 1990.

• IATSE 891 | consists of over 8,000 professional artists and technicians who work in film and television production in BC.

• Motion Picture Production Industry Association of British Columbia (MPPIA) | inform, educate, develop and market new initiatives that ensure BC’s motion picture industry flourishes as part of British Columbia’s vibrant, environmentally conscious, knowledge-based economy.

• SIM Group | a leading supplier of production equipment, workflow/dailies and post-production solutions, and has expanded to include stages and production offices in Vancouver.

• The Union of BC Performers (UBCP/ACTRA) | an autonomous branch of ACTRA (Alliance of Canadian Cinema, Television, and Radio Artists), the national organization of professional performers working in the English-language recorded media in Canada.

• Vancouver Film Studios | located in Vancouver, providing modern production facilities and infrastructure for both film and television projects of any scope and scale.

• William F. White | equips Canada’s film and television industry with the most extensive and technologically advanced rental inventory in the country.

New Partners in 2018:

• Sunbelt Rentals | The latest equipment rental technology, more than 700 locations throughout the U.S. and Canada.

• Western One |  a trusted provider of aerial lifts, heating solutions, temporary power, fuel delivery, and operator training.

• Martini Studios | located in Langley, providing a full-service production facility to meet the needs of the most demanding film and television projects.

• Eagle Creek Studio | fully-serviced 5-acre film studio complex located in Burnaby. 

• North Shore Studios | a full-service film production facility located in beautiful North Vancouver, British Columbia.

• The Bridge Studios | the first dedicated studio facility in Vancouver opened for business in 1987, located in Burnaby.

• Entertainment Partners Canada | the leading provider of payroll services to the entertainment industry in Canada.

Reel Green as a program values knowledge, inspiration, and empowerment to support the Reel Green vision. While Reel Green is housed at Creative BC, it is a program that will thrive because of collaboration and partnership with those in the motion picture industry and the plan reflects this openness.
