SXSW Sydney 2023 B2B Program Expression of Interest Request

Canadian Heritage, in close collaboration with Global Affairs Canada Trade Commissioner Service in Sydney, Australia, is recruiting a delegation of up to 10 Canadian companies in the audiovisual sector (screen) and interactive digital media (video games, VR, AR, immersive experiences, etc.) to participate in a tailored B2B program during the inaugural SXSW Sydney, Australia, this October 2023.
While the SXSW Sydney official program will run October 15-22, 2023, the Canada House will host activities over three days, October 18-20, 2023. A full-day program on Wednesday, October 18, 2023 at the Canada House will be dedicated to this audiovisual/interactive digital media delegation. Delegates will participate in tailored B2B meetings with Australian buyers, panel discussions and networking events at the Canada House. They might also have an opportunity to present their product/projects at the Canada House and experience being immersed within the vibrant creative business community that will take over the downtown core for SXSW Sydney.
If you are interested in this opportunity, please complete the Expression of Interest form, and return it to missioncommerciale-trademission@pch.gc.ca by Friday, September 1, 2023, 23:59 PDT. Companies selected to participate in Canada focused program at SXSW Sydney will be notified by Thursday, September 7, 2023.
In addition to the compulsory Expression of Interest form, applicants are asked to complete a voluntary self-ID questionnaire to provide Canadian Heritage with an understanding of who is accessing the Creative Export Strategy programs and services. The questionnaire should be completed by either business owner(s)/board member(s) of a not-for-profit organization or the company representative(s) travelling to SXSW Sydney.
N.B. All Canadian business delegates are responsible for making their own travel arrangements and covering all related travel costs, including airfare, accommodations, ground transportation and meals.
As a result of participation in SXSW Sydney as a Canadian business delegate, each company will be required to complete a post-event survey.
