About the Program

The Demo Recording program supports new and emerging artists from systemically excluded groups living in B.C. to engage in sound recording and mentorship with local music producers.

Artists and producers can apply together for a $2,000 grant to cover 100% of recording expenses for one to two songs.

Applications Open: Wednesday, January 28, 2026
Application Deadline: Wednesday, March 26, 2026 at 4:00pm Pacific Time
Results will be available approximately 12 weeks after the application deadline.

Applications are evaluated by a panel of industry professionals that represent the groups this program is intended to serve, according to the priorities of the program, and using the scoring sheet below.

Evaluation is competitive and comparative, based on the applications submitted and the funding available.

  • Wednesday, February 11, 2026 – online (MS Teams) – 12:00 pm – 1:00 pm
  • Friday, February 6, 2026 – in-person (Cait’s Sweet Bites & Beanery, Prince George) – 1:30 pm – 3:00 pm

All info sessions are conducted in English, and occur in Pacific Time.
