CHRIST CHURCH CATHEDRAL | 690 BURRARD STREET | Google map
Doors at 7:00PM | Concert starts at 7:30PM
featuring:
Vicky Chow, piano
The “monster pianist” (Time Out New York) and “one of the new stars of new music” (Los Angeles Times) Vicky Chow is back!
After a sold out performance of Philip Glass’ Piano Etudes, Book 1 Vicky Chow will be taking us on a musical journey through the legendary composer’s second book of piano etudes.
It will be a night that captivates audiences and fills Christ Church Cathedral with beautiful and powerful melodies that resonate long after the final note.
Philip Glass lauds Vicky Chow’s rendition of his Etudes, describing it as “a highly dynamic and expressive performance, uniquely hers.” Vicky herself characterizes Glass’ compositions as “sophisticated and simple at the same time.”
It’s music that invites you to enter a hypnotic state and experience a feeling of wonder.
This concert is generously sponsored by Dr. Karen Gelmon & Anne Stewart, K.C.
