Research Study: Understanding Social Capital in Canada’s Screen Media Industry

Dec 16, 2021

POV, a non-profit organization that provides film and production training to young, diverse creatives, is doing research to better understand the overwhelming importance of social capital (relationships, trust, credibility) as a means of accessing knowledge, jobs, networks, and other resources in Canada’s Screen Media industry.

The aim of the research is to understand how social capital operates in the sector – what it looks like, how it’s built, and how it can both provide access, and create barriers to accessing opportunities. The results of this study will be used to inform programs, policies, and investments to support  the sector’s overall commitments to increasing workforce diversity.

This research has never been done before, and is only possible if people in the industry share their experiences.

If you would like to participate by sharing your perspective, please use the link below to complete a 15 minute survey. Your participation is 100% anonymous and confidential.
