Reel Green Advisory Committee Kicks-off Carbon Literacy Course!
Education on climate science and practical solutions on set is now available for BC motion picture industry.
This year, the Reel Green program has been bolstered by 13 industry organizations that agree with the program’s mission to enable the evolution and implementation of sustainable practices in the motion picture industry to contribute to the betterment of the world.
Part of this evolution is international collaboration to share knowledge and tools to advance sustainable production – we can do more together. With this, Creative BC on behalf of the Reel Green program entered into a formal collaboration with the British Academy of Film and Television Arts (BAFTA) to expand the tools from their albert program, one of which is the Carbon Literacy course.
With education being a priority of the Reel Green program, the first initiative to roll out is the Carbon Literacy course. In October 2017, Jeremy Mathieu, International Manager at BAFTA’s albert program was in British Columbia to kick-off Carbon Literacy course with an executive training for the Reel Green Advisory Committee members.
Reel Green will provide this course for free to those in the motion picture industry in BC to educate on the science of climate change and provide practical solutions to reduce environmental impact in business operations and on set.
