Cadence is up for Program, Direction, Screenwriting for Alexander Lasheras, Musical Score for Mark Dolmont, Supporting Performance – Male for Charlie Kerr, Supporting Performance – Female for Amanda Burke, Lead Performance – Male for David Kaye, and Lead Performance – Female Maxine Chadburn. Van Helsing (dramatic series), Haley (short drama), and The Unseen (motion picture) each received nine nominations.
Awards are handed out in 14 categories: Motion Picture; Television Movie; Short Drama; Dramatic Series; Feature Length Documentary Program; Short Documentary Program; Documentary Series; Information, Lifestyle or Reality Program or Series; Music, Comedy or Variety Program or Series; Animation Program or Series; Youth or Children's Program or Series; Web Series; Music Video; and Student Production. The Awards received 1295 eligible entries, the highest in Leo Awards history.
The 2017 Leo Awards are held May 27, June 3, and June 4 in Vancouver.
