Author Sam Wiebe the New Writer in Residence at Vancouver Public Library

Sep 20, 2016

Wiebe is no mystery to the Vancouver writing scene. His first novel, Last of the Independents, won an Arthur Ellis award from the Crime Writers of Canada in 2012 and a Kobo Emerging Writer Prize for mystery in 2015. His latest novel, Invisible Dead, was released in June and is quickly gaining traction across Canada.

His residency at VPL will run until December 16th, and will include public readings and writing workshops across the city.

Emerging writers who would like a one-on-one consultation with VPL’s writer in residence must apply to be considered. Details on upcoming sessions and submission requirements can be found at vpl.ca/events.

If you have any questions about the writer in residence programs and/or events, please contact the VPL at programs@vpl.ca.
